Leanne Townsend is a family law attorney in Toronto. She is the founder of Townsend Family Law where her practice is focused on family law, domestic violence and victim advocacy. Prior to founding her own firm, Leanne gained significant experience both as a Partner at a respected Bay Street law firm as well as over 16 years as an Assistant Crown Attorney, most of which was spent as the domestic violence co-lead in the Toronto West Crown Attorney’s Office.

She is regularly interviewed in the media and has been featured on CBC television, CP24, CTV News, numerous radio stations.as well as in the Lawyer’s Daily and Divorce Magazine. She has been a guest expert in the media and on numerous podcasts on topics including abusive relationships, divorcing a narcissist, co-parenting, and many other family law topics. In addition, she has spoken at a variety of events focused on women empowerment, and she regularly writes her own blog on topics related to family law and women empowerment. She also hosts the Divorcing Well podcast as well as cohosts the Divorce Explained podcast.

Leanne has degrees in political science, education and law. Her biggest pride and joy are her two children who she lives with in Toronto, Canada. In addition to her business, Leanne is passionate about fitness, travel and lifelong education.
